I suspect that at some pint the dress has been altered around the waist and perhaps the back was taken out

but in their own way

The cut is loose and easy and the fabric a very fine silk that is that type that feels butter soft and is of a good, luxurious. Each sleeve is cut to puff slightly above the two button cuffs. The attached tie at the neck is cut wide and long and sits just off side following the offset button opening. The combination of the tie at the neck and the richness of the silk really make for the perfect black top. Excellent
