The top is made of an almost chenille like fabric but with a finer and tighter plush - its been puckered and gathers - I suspect by hand so the illusion of a bed of flowers is created

None worsened when it was cleaned

This is the Christian Dior - New York label and is considered to be demi-couture from this time period of Dior's history

Note that it was too small to fully close on the mannequin - it does do up entirely in the back in the right sized girl

Like the green, this Thea Porter caftan was made in 1977. It was dated from a copy of the original sketch of the caftan shown worn over a pair of wide legged pants. A copy of that sketch also appears in the 2015 book 'Thea Porter: Bohemian Chic' and I have included both the sketch and a shot of it in the book for you reference. These open
