The view from quite height in the hotel was very captivating to my mind

We used to use an old diesel generator for both electricity and to pump water from the well to a water tower above the ramshackle farmhouse

there may very be more to see

to carry a few drawing things and various papers cut to the sizes I might like

I enjoyed the shapes of these lovely pears and placed them in a sort of dance I suppose. It is fun to build layers of colours with these particular pens, in doing so the softness of the shadows becomes more descriptive. I am told that this variety was developed in Britain by Thomas Francis Rivers at his nursery in a place called Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire. There was a National
