In this piece “ Tide” I am reminded of being alone at the reed beds as the tide begins to flow back in through the reeds

yet it unravels into a serene depiction of a woodland river

This work encourages viewers to find a quiet moment

Bristol steps at Templemeads Landscapes as the foliage appears bothThis mixed media work is from a sketch I made whilst in Bristol Templemeads. The steps, the sculpture and architecture intrigued me. I shall be using these drawings and mixed media to make large paintings of the city using bold colours and generous shapes one against another. The arrangement of colours and forms reflects the artists understanding of spatial relationships, offering a play of light and shadow without relying on literal interpretations.
