I guess you could probably get modern parts a lot smaller and mount them in the can but i have not seen these go wrong unlike in the REVOX units

These are used widely in all the older Teac models later ones don't have the thread although they should all be compatible in most cases

Slight tranishing as is common but was erasing fine

TEAC A3440S Main internal mounting plate all motors are security markedThese are not normall needed as a spare though I make it a rule to keep one just in case for each machine I dont need, you never know This is a very solid aluminium plate on which is mounted all the mtors and parts etc, it has to be very flat And is one of the reasons why the machines were very expensive, if your machine has suffered a serious fall this may get you running again.
