Hydroxyprogesterone Blood Test eye-health bile ductsMeasures 17 hydroxyprogesterone (17 OHP), a steroid in the cortisol synthesis pathway. Elevated levels indicate an adrenal enzyme deficiency, most commonly 21 hydroxylase deficiency (congenital adrenal hyperplasia). Used to screen for CAH and investigate unexplained androgen excess.
